It’s a publication I’ve respected for a long time, and seeing my work included among so many dedicated artists feels both encouraging and humbling.

The feature reflects a part of my artistic journey—one that’s still unfolding, still full of learning, and still shaped by everyday experiences inside and outside the studio.I don’t see this as an achievement to stand on, but rather as a quiet reminder to keep working, keep refining, and keep listening to what the paintings are trying to say.

I’m thankful for the opportunity, and even more thankful for the people who’ve supported my practice along the way.There’s still a long road ahead, and I’m simply trying to take each step with sincerity.

I'm excited to share that my work was selected for a Members Only show with North Van Arts.Figures & Faces reimagines the human form and face in scenes that range from the everyday to the fantastical. Join me at the exhibition opening Thursday, July 25 from 6pm-8pm at CityScape Community ArtSpace. The exhibition runs until September 6.

Semi-Abstract Landscape Painting

Join William Liao in an exploration of acrylic painting.

William will combine traditional with modern techniques to create a semi-abstract landscape painting. With the use of a reference photo William will capture the feeling of the image without copying the photo. You will observe various techniques including paint application, colour selection and brushwork.
